This photo captures unique rock structures at Pebble Beach. There is a lot to be told about Salton Sea and Bombay Beach. The Salton Sea is about 195 feet below the sea level, is the largest lake in California (but hardly known), has more salt than the ocean and was created due to the break of an irrigation system from the Colorado river in 1905. We got the attention of this place through a famous photo by Richard Misrach that shows the trailer flooded up to the roof. Today it is more like a monument of decay. Very close to the rotten trailer is this beach segment where you walk in fish bones. In some year millions of fish died in the lake. /über Salton Sea und Bombay Beach gibt es viel zu erzählen. Der Salton Sea liegt 65 Meter unter dem Meeresspiegel, ist salziger als das Meer, der größte See in Kalifornien und entstand 1905 durch einen Bruch im Bewässerungssystem des Colorados. Durch ein berühmtes Foto von Robert Misrach, das den Wohnwagen bis zum Dach im Wasser zeigt, wurden wir darauf aufmerksam. Der Wohnanhängerplatz wurde in den 70 ern in einem Jahrhundertunwetter überschwemmt. Ganz in der nähe des verrotteten Wohnwagens ist ein Strandabschnitt, der nur aus Fischgräten besteht. In einem Jahr sind hier Millionen von Fischen gestorben.
